5595 Gallery is, for most of the year, a working studio. We open as a gallery only intermittently – perhaps once or twice a year. It is in essence a project space and is not commercially run. The artists we work with at 5595 is based on the whim of our own areas of interest but 5595 is also intended to be a project space where artists can exeriment and explore new or untried territory in their own working practice.
The gallery is located just off Edinburgh's promenade in Portobello. The name 5595 is simply the latitude on which Portobello and Edinburgh sit and the name is intended to both reference equilibrium and indicate an international, cross-borders outlook.
If you're interested my own artwork can be seen here.
